J.W. Milam died on December 31, 1980, and his obituary was published in the Greenville Delta Democrat Times on Friday, January 3, 1981, p. 2A. Although the obituary lists Juanita Milam as his wife, the couple had actually divorced several years earlier. Milam never remarried. The photographs of the grave were taken on February 6, 2005. Milam does not appear to be buried near any other family members.

Veteran’s Hospital in Jackson.

   Milam had lived in Greenville 15

years. He was a retired heavy equ-

ipment operator. A  veteran of World

War II, Milam was a Baptist.

   Survivors include his wife, Ju-

anita Milam, and two sons, Horace

“Bill” Milam and Harvey

Thompson Milam, all of Greenville;

four brothers, Buddy Milam and

Roy Bryant, both of Ruleville, Dan

Milam of Pascagoula and Raymond

Bryant of Dresden, Tenn; three

sisters, Mary Louise Owens of

Cleveland, Allene MacWinston of

Bellbrook, Ohio, and Doris Bryant of

Ruleville, and eight grandchildren.

   Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.

tomorrow in the chapel of National

Funeral Home in Greenville. The

Rev. John Rudd will officiate. Burial

will be in Greenlawn Memorial
